Classic Game Room reviews the Japanese Sony Playstation 2 model PS2 SCPH-90000. If you want to play games like Thunder Force 6 and Front Mission 5 you need a machine that can play them, and American PS2’s just won’t do the trick. You really only have 2 options, modifications or importing a Japanese PS2. CGR decided to purchase a new Japanese region NTSC 100v PS2 from Play-asia.com with a heaping jar of pocket change and play Thunder Force VI like it’s our job (it is). There are tons of import titles available only in Japan for the Playstation 1 and PS2. For some reason (money) these game companies make certain genres region locked or encoded and contain them to market specific parts of the world. They assume that Americans don’t want to play Japanese SHMUPS like TF6 or Macross Plus or strategy games like Front Mission 2 and FM5. They thought wrong! We do want to play these games and although not cheap, it’s not like you have to cut your arm off either. Importing a Japanese region NTSC Playstation 2 has never been easier or less expensive. This SCPH-90000 works on American AC power and plays games just like a US PS2. You can even set the system menus to English, and most games seem to have English menus anyway. Works with American PS2 memory cars. This review shows the differences between a Japanese PS2 and an American PS2 and how they stack up side by side. Only on CLASSIC GAME ROOM will you find such authoritative video game equipment and hardware reviews, including import gaming systems. Why learn how to modify or mod your American PS2 when there are other options that save time and money in the long run? Play import shooters and SHMUPS with ease with this Japan only PS2. Does not play PS3 games.

Classic Game Room HD reviews the MODEL SCPH-79001 PLAYSTATION 2, the PS2 slim! This slimmer, thinner, lighter, smaller PS2 has everything that you need to play the bulk of Playstation 2 and PSone video games. Two controller ports, two memory card slots, backwards compatibility with PS1 and awesome value for the money. The SCPH 79001 Playstation 2 is just like its older, bigger sibling, the original PS2, but less than half the size. CGR likes the build quality, quiet running and space saving size of the PS2 Slim model SCPH-79001, even though the design of the PS2 Model SCPH-90000 is slightly refined.

Classic Game Room HD reviews BUSHIDO BLADE for Playstation 1 PS1 video game console. Bushido Blade was released in 1997 and was instantly one of my favorite fighting games ever made. Choose from a small selection of characters and an awesome variety of weapons to stab, slash, hack or mash your opponents with. Bushido Blade was respected yet never really achieved popular mass market appeal, games like DOA, Tekken and Samurai Shodown were far more popular… yet Bushido Blade has something they don’t. Maybe it’s the lack of a health bar, maybe the weapons based combat or maybe it’s just the style. This CGRHD review of Bushido Blade has gameplay footage from PS1 showing Bushido Blade being played in vs. mode and in POV (point of view) mode. You could even link two PS1 consoles together and play a friend in POV combat. The storyline is fun, but 2 player vs. combat is what this game is made for. Get 1 second kills or strech the game out all afternoon. Use button combos and three stances to wield an amazing variety of attacks with which to eliminate your enemy. Bushido Blade was developed by Lightweight and published by Squaresoft in 1997. The PS1 game disk can be found relatively easily, although not as cheaply as some other games for Playstation 1. They made a sequel, Bushido Blade 2, but I want an all-new Bushido Blade for PS3 or Xbox 360 with multiplayer. This is one of the finest fighting games ever made, a true departure from the norm and a worthwhile addition to any video gamer collection. Master the samurai style with the action packed Bushido Blade on PS1.

Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of GRAND THEFT AUTO SAN ANDREAS for the Playstation 2 video game console PS2. As we all await GRAND THEFT AUTO on the Playstation 3 PS3 we can blow up the entire world created by Rockstar Games in this amazing part of the GTA series. You are CJ, thug gangsta hustler who starts out in Ganton and rises to the top like Scarface meets Boys in the Hood. San Andreas is known for it’s amazing soundtrack (like Vice City) featuring rap and hip hop artists like Eazy E, NWA, Ice Cube, Slick Rick, Tupac and Gangstarr just to name a few. The great tunes of the 90’s like Soundgarden, Helmet, Alice in Chains, Billy Idol and Rage Against the Machine are there as well to fill your radio dial with angst as you mercilessly wipe out the cities of Las Venturas, Los Santos and San Fiero.
Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD. Part 1 of 2. Watch in High Definition. Classic Game Room reviews MORTAL KOMBAT vs DC UNIVERSE for the Xbox 360 video game console, MK vs DC is also available for Sony Playstation 3 PS3. This Mortal Kombal vs DC Universe review features gameplay footage from the game in HD. This is an awesome fighting 3D fighting game, no way around it. From Midway, Warner Bros. and DC Comics comes this bizarre yet enjoyable combination of the Mortal Kombat franchise and the DC comic book characters like Superman, Batman, Lex Luther, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern and Catwoman. The Mortal Kombat characters that you know and love are here for mortal combat including Raiden, Sonya Blade, Jax, Scorpion, Sub Zero and Liu Chang. Which universe will you choose to fight in? That’s the beauty of this game, fight a parallel storyline with one of two opposing sides. The writing in this game is campy, impossible and awesome. Fatality moves for Mortal Kombat and DC characters are in the game, and although the violence has been toned down a bit with DC Heroic Brutality (seriously??), the Fatality moves are fun to watch and nicely rendered in 3D animation. In many ways this is a superior game, Mortal Kombat vs. Soul Calibur IV or Virtua Fighter 5… who wins? CGRHD likes this game better, short and easy to memorize button combos, great gameplay and that awesome mixture of DC and MK characters. One of the better fighting games out there for the 360 and PS3. Classic Game Room HD reviews new games with a respect for the classics, and classics with a love of old school gaming.

Part 1 of 2. Classic Game Room HD reviews MARIO KART Wii for the Nintendo Wii. This game is the bomb for those of you looking for intense, colorful and competitive kart racing gameplay on the Wii. We use the Wii wheel in this review. This Mariokart review of Mario Kart has gameplay footage from Mariocart showing the game being played and why Nintendo Mario Cart is awesome. Mario Kart Wii was released for the Wii in 2008 and has numerous courses from the Super Nintendo SNES Mario Kart, the N64 Mario Kart and the handheld games. It works with the Nintendo WFC Wi Fi Connection to give you international competition against MarioKart players from around the world. Internet gameplay is free, fast and fun. Play as many of the Mario universe characters like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Wario and Toad. Unlock vehicles, gokarts, tracks and motorcycles as well as additional characters. You can race in Mario Kart as your Mii when you unlock it. What is the list of unlock unlockable items in Mario Kart? You’ll see some of them in this review along with some tips and tricks for gameplay if you learn something by watching the awesome footage on screen of the Mario Kart races. Could we butcher English to make room for any more search terms? No, because this review of Mario Kart is the ultimate best MarioKart Wii review on YouTube reviewed by the Wii reviewers at Classic Game Room reviewing Mario Kart Wii and other Nintendo Wii video games released in 2008 and 2009. Classic Game Room HD reviews FUEL for Xbox 360, Fuel is also on Playstation 3 PS3 and PC. Fuel is an arcade style driving game where you can drive around 5000 square miles of post-apocalypic, scorched earth and race in a variety of off-road style car races. This CGRHD review of FUEL has gameplay from Fuel showing game play of this arcade style driving game which is like Burnout Paradise meets The Road Warrior. Drive motorcycles, atv’s, buggys, trucks and SUV’s in Fuel. Race in challenge races, career races or multiplayer races. Customize your driver, find vistas and explore, Fuel gives you a lot of things to do with some clever weather effects, colors and challenging races. If you’re a fan of Codemaster’s Dirt and Grid, Fuel may not be the game you’re expecting. But if you like biking games and ATV video games then you may really dig this one, or Burnout mixed with off road mayhem. Classic Game Room HD reviewed Fuel for Xbox 360 and PS3 as a PS3 and Xbox 360 reviewing driving games in HD like Fuel. Has the world’s largest explorable environment, so they say. It’s BIG!
